Jashpur: A startling incident has come to light from Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. Drunken husband brutally killed his wife for not cooking food. The criminal husband first disrobed the wife, then killed her by beating her with an iron rod. The police have arrested the culprit.

The incident is of Puranga village of Bagicha police station area. In the village, Satyaprakash Korva, his wife Chandramuni Korva came home on Saturday evening and started asking for food from his wife. There was a marriage function in the adjacent house due to which the deceased woman had not cooked the food. The husband got angry about this and in a state of intoxication, he started beating his wife. Around 9 pm, the people of the village heard the commotion and reached the spot and tried to pacify the culprit. However, he did not agree even after persuasion by the people and after closing the door of the house, he mercilessly started beating his wife with an iron rod. The woman died due to multiple injuries. Due to this, the criminal husband also tore the clothes of the wife. 

In order to escape after the death of the wife, the criminal husband concocted a false story by telling the family members that the wife was ill. However, the son of the criminal had seen the father getting beaten up at night. On hearing the news of the death, the people and relatives of the Korva community reached the spot in the morning and also started preparations for the last rites. Meanwhile, the people of the village informed the police about the matter. The people of the village had seen the incident of fight, which they complained to the police. Bagicha police station in-charge Pradeep Sidar reached the spot and arrested the criminal husband and got the post-mortem done and handed him over to the family members.
