Srinagar: There is no possibility of holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir this year. The Election Commission has revised November 25 as the last date for publication of voter list in the schedule of special summary revision in Jammu and Kashmir, since November 25 has been fixed as the last date for publication of electoral rolls, it is clear that there will be no Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections this year.

The electoral draft roll will be published by the Election Commission on September 15. Time has been fixed from September 15 to October 25 for any objection regarding this. These objections will be resolved by November 10. After this, the draft roll will be sent to the commission for final publication before November 19. The final list will then be published on November 25.

Earlier there were reports that assembly elections could be held in Jammu and Kashmir along with Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. Elections can be held before mid-November because then the weather in Jammu and Kashmir will not be that cold. Later, due to snowfall, voting is affected in many areas. Therefore, the commission is seriously brainstorming about holding the elections of all three states simultaneously. A preliminary report on the possibilities has been summoned. The term of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly ends in December and that of Himachal Vidhan Sabha ends in November.
