Kolkata: BJP President J P Nadda has recently targeted Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the Batla House case. After the death sentence of the convict in the Batla House case, JP Nadda asked Mamata Banerjee last Tuesday, "When she would leave her politics because the matter has not been forged." Addressing an election rally at Kutulpur, JP Nadda said, "Mamataji had termed the Batla House encounter as fake. She said that if the case is not forged, she will leave politics. The court has now sentenced Ariz Khan to death. I would now like to ask Mamataji when will you quit politics?"

The Delhi court has sentenced Ariz Khan, convicted in the Batla House encounter case of 2008, to death on Monday. Additional Sessions Judge Sandeep Yadav has also imposed a fine of Rs 11 lakh against the convict and directed that out of the penalty amount, Rs 10 lakh should be released as compensation to the family of deceased Mohan Chand Sharma. There were five serial blasts planted in Delhi on 13th September 2008, in which at least 30 people were killed and more than 100 were injured.

In fact, inspector Mohan Chand Sharma of the special cell was killed during the Batla House encounter of 2008. You all know that there is an election environment in West Bengal these days, the BJP and Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders are making statements of allegations against each other.
