Jhansi: Some Muslim clerics of Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh have decided during a meeting that they will not go to the wedding where the DJ will ring, they will not go to get the nikah done. During a meeting at a marriage hall in Prem Nagar in Jhansi, Muslim clerics have decided that no imam will teach Nikaah in a wedding where DJ, dance, procession offering or drum will be played.

In the meeting, Kazi Mufti Sagar Ansari said that it is against Islam to play DJ dance or drums at a wedding. The one who does not follow all these things has neither love for prophet Muhammad nor faith in his heart. Qazi Mufti said that if this work did not stop even at the behest of the Muslim ulemas and the people continued their arbitrariness and worked against Islam, then the ulema themselves would work to stop it. Qazi Mufti further said that even in the Nikaah where all these rituals will be followed, the ulemas will neither eat food nor teach Nikaah in those marriages.

He said that such evils in marriages are bound to lead to guilt. Committees will be formed to curb such acts and programmes will be monitored. After the meeting, Maulana Mohammad Hashim, Imam of Jama Masjid in Jhansi city, said, "Dj dhols that are played in nikah, it is haram in Shariat. We have nothing to do with it. It has also been decided that in the wedding where DJs and bands will be played, no Imam will teach the nikah. '
