New Delhi: Thousands of Indian students were trapped there when the Russian invasion started in Ukraine. What did Prime Minister Narendra Modi talk to Russian President Putin to get them out? This information was given by External Affairs Minister Jaishankar in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The Foreign Minister has told that Putin had told Modi that where Indian students are present, there will be no firing.

In the Lok Sabha, the Foreign Minister said that the situation in Kharkiv and Sumy of Ukraine was very bad. I was in the same room when PM Modi spoke to Putin. We were told by Putin that Russia would not fire at the place where Indian students would gather (to be evacuated). Jaishankar further said that PM Modi had spoken to the Presidents of both the countries as both were blaming each other for firing. The External Affairs Minister said that PM Modi had spoken to both of them and talked about ceasefire.

Then the team of India took the team of Red Cross with them. In this way the Indian people could be evicted from Sumi. In the Lok Sabha, Jaishankar also said that some people here are talking about elections. Those people should know that PM Modi had come back to Delhi in the midst of the election campaign and had spoken to global leaders to expel Indians from Ukraine.
