New Delhi: The 2023 iteration of Honda's Activa 125 scooter has been unveiled in India. The car keeps the styling cues of its predecessor while adding new features and an OBD-2-compliant engine.

The two-wheeler competes in our market against the Suzuki Access 125 model, made by another Japanese automaker. Which one is therefore a better option? Let's examine their characteristics and details.

The Honda Activa 125 has an alloy rim, a single-piece seat, flat footboard, semi-digital instrument cluster, LED headlight, and LED position lamps. Additionally available are a smart key and a side-stand cut-off switch. It has five different colours.

The Access 125 comes equipped with alloy wheels, a pillion grab rail, circular mirrors, and a digital instrument panel with Bluetooth functionality. It has full LED lighting.

The Activa 125 has a kerb weight of 109kg, a fuel storage capacity of 5.3 litres, and a 162mm ground clearance. The Access 125, on the other hand, has a fuel capacity of five litres, a 160mm ground clearance, and weighs 103kg.

A 123.97cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, OBD-2 compliant engine with a maximum output of 8.2 horsepower and a maximum torque of 10.3 Nm powers the 2023 Honda Activa 125.

The Suzuki Access 125, on the other hand, is powered by a 124cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine that generates 8.6 horsepower and 10 Nm of torque. A CVT gearbox is present in both cars.

The front wheel of the 2023 Activa 125 has a disc/drum brake, while the back wheel has a drum brake and a CBS. Additionally, it has an anti-theft system and an idle stop.

Both a front disc/drum brake and a rear drum brake are included with the Access 125. The front forks on both scooters are telescoping. They each have a swingarm and spring-based shock absorbers on the back.

The 2023 Honda Activa 125 costs between Rs. 78,920 and Rs. 88,093 in India. The Access 125, on the other hand, is priced between Rs. 79,400 and Rs. 89,500. (all prices, ex-showroom).

The two scooters compare favourably. However, the Activa 125 receives our vote due to its superior appearance, larger size, OBD-2-compliant engine, and marginally lower price.
