WASHINGTON: The statement made by U.S. President Donald Trump on the Kashmir issue has become a problem for America. The statement came from the US State Department earlier and now the White House has said that the Kashmir issue is a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan. Therefore, these issues can be resolved by both countries.

In fact, India first protested against Trump's statement, where Foreign Ministry spokesman Raveesh Kumar tweeted that Donald Trump's statement was dismissed outright. Now, sources say, even in Washington, Indian officials took up the issue with the White House and the Foreign Ministry, after which the White House was forced to clean up. A White House statement said Pakistan has taken some action against terrorist organizations, but it needs to completely eliminate terror from its own land.

At the same time, the White House has said that it has always been the policy of the US that the Kashmir issue is a mutual issue between India and Pakistan. Commenting on PM Modi's remarks, the White House said that India is America's strongest friend and we are always ready to work with PM Narendra Modi and Indian officials to fight against terrorism.
