WHO experts to arrive in Wuhan today to probe corona origins

New Delhi:  Coronavirus has been wreaking havoc across the globe for almost one year. Since the global pandemic has hit normal life across the globe, several claims and assumptions are being made on the outbreak of the deadly virus. The coronavirus cases were first detected in China and Wuhan is considered as the epicentre of the virus outbreak. China is Amid a resurgence of COVID-19 in several cities nearby Beijing, a 10-member team of WHO experts will arrive from Singapore in Wuhan to probe the origins of the deadly virus.

In a  briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian on Tuesday had said that they will fly from Singapore to Wuhan on January 14. He, however, did not mention whether the experts would have to undergo quarantine. China’s ‘wolf warrior diplomat’ did not give further information about their itinerary and how long the team would stay in Wuhan. According to the report of AFP,  the team will have to complete two weeks of quarantine due to strict border restrictions.

Covid-19  was first reported in a wet market in Wuhan where live animals, birds and reptiles are sold and spread to humans; however, China has been questioning this narrative. Meanwhile, several places in Hebei province close to Beijing reported fresh corona outbreak.
