Prayagraj: All India Akhara Parishad chief Mahant Narendra Giri has been in talks about his successor since his mysterious death. But now the name of his successor has been announced, the Panch Parameshwaras have appointed Balbir Giri, a disciple of Mahant Narendra Giri, as his successor. In the suicide note found by the police, Narendra Giri has written about his disciple Balbir Giri being made his successor and mahant of the math Baghbari Gaddi Hanuman Temple.

Balvir Giri is the dearest and disciple of Narendra Giri. He is originally from Uttarakhand, left his family in 2005 and became a saint. Narendra Giri had appointed Balveer Giri as the in-charge of Haridwar Ashram. Balveer Giri and Anand Giri are said to have become disciples of Mahat Narendra Giri simultaneously. But after some time Balbir Giri did not like Anand Giri's attitude and Balbir had distanced himself from them. Meanwhile, Anand became the most beloved disciple of Mahant Narendra Giri. 

Mahant Secretary of Niranjani Akhara Swami Ramratan Giri has said that Balveer Giri is a great saint with pure thoughts. He has held a key position in the arena in front of Narendra Giri. He was allowed to take any decision related to the monastery. Whatever work he does, he does it in the interest of saints. Narendra Giri will be last rituals on 5th October. According to reports, Balbir Giri will be seated on the throne of Baghambari Monastery on the same day.
