New Delhi: The Central government has decided on a minimum reserve price for the country's giant airline Air India. According to media reports, the government has also met two bidders to discuss further. According to the report, it is believed that the government has taken its decision on the bid. The winner has also been identified and the government is yet to announce it.

The report says that it is not yet clear when the name of the winning bidder will be announced. Representatives of the two shortlisted bidders met government officials on Wednesday. Representatives of Tata Sons and SpiceJet Chairman Ajay Singh have met. However, TATA Sons and Ajay Singh are yet to respond in this regard. Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey has also not responded to the matter.

The Committee of Secretaries (CoS) has decided on the reserve price, but details are not available. According to the report, a presentation on valuation sat on Tuesday. The Tata Group is considered ahead in the race for Air India. Tata Group is believed to have bid higher for Air India. An official told the media that a high bid has been made keeping in view the national asset.
