New Delhi: The World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed the arrival of BA.2.75, a new sub-variant of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus in India and some other countries, and advised them to remain vigilant. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that this new strain of coronavirus has been confirmed in India and other member countries of the organisation.

Ghebreyesus, in a press conference, said that in the last two weeks, there has been an increase of about 30% in the new cases of corona all over the world. Four of the WHO's six sub-sectors have seen growth last week. In Europe and America, the wave of the corona is going on due to The BA.4 and BA.5 of Omicron. Meanwhile, a new sub-strain named BA.2.75 has been confirmed in countries like India. This is being monitored.

At the same time, after the BA.2.75 was detected, who's chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan posted a video on Twitter saying that a new sub-format has been found. This is called BA.2.75. It was first reported from India followed by 10 other countries. Only a few sequencings have been found for the analysis of this subforum, but some changes have been noticed in its spike protein. So it's too early to say more about it.
