Not many people know about Rani Kamalapati! Our country has been rich in heroines. One of these heroines is Rani Kamalapati.

Who was Rani Kamalapati?
Rani Kamalapati was the 18th century Gond Queen. At that time, The Head of Ginnorgarh was Nizam Shah, who had 7 wives. The beautiful and brave Queen Kamalapati was one of them and she was dearest to the king. Because of that, Bari was ruled by Alam Shah, nephew of Nizam Shah. Alam's eyes were on Nizam Shah's wealth and prosperity. Impressed by Kamalapati's beauty, he had also expressed his love for the Queen, but the queen rejected him.

Determined to take revenge after the murder of her husband:-
Nephew Alam Shah was constantly plotting for the murder of his uncle Nizam Shah. Once, on occasion, Das poisoned the king's food and killed him. The queen and her son were also in trouble. Rani Kamalapati brought her son Naval Shah from Ginnaurgarh to Rani Kamalapati Mahal in Bhopal. Rani Kamalapati wanted to avenge her husband's death. But the problem was that she had neither an army nor money.

Assistance received at a price of Rs. 1 lakh:-
According to historians, Rani Kamalapati sought help from friend Mohammad Khan. He agreed to the help, but instead, he demanded Rs 1 lakh from the Queen. Rani Kamalapati had to take revenge, so she agreed even if she did not have the money. Friend Mohammad Khan was once a part of the Mughal army. He was expelled from the army after a discrepancy in the accounts of the looted properties. He then established his power in Jagdishpur near Bhopal.

Rani Kamalapati finally avenges husband's murder:-
A friend of Kamalapati, Mohammed attacked and killed King Alam Shah of Bari, the nephew of Nizam Shah, and thus Kamalapati avenged her husband's murder. However, as per the agreement, Rani did not have Rs 1 lakh to give to her friend Mohammed. At that time, One lakh rupees was a lot. The queen then gave her a part of Bhopal. But Naval Shah, the son of Rani Kamalapati, did not like it. Naval Shah and friend Mohammad got into a fight. Mohammed is said to have poisoned Naval Shah to death.
