Dhaka: A day before the ODI series against Bangladesh, India suffered a major setback. The team's experienced fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the series due to injury. Now BCCI has included fast bowler Umran Malik in the squad as his replacement. BCCI has announced this today i.e. on Saturday morning.
According to the BCCI press release, Shami had injured his shoulder ahead of the ODI series against Bangladesh. He is currently under the observation of the BCCI medical team at the NCA, Bengaluru. BCCI wrote in its press release that, 'Fast bowler Mohammed Shami suffered a shoulder injury during a training session before the ODI series against Bangladesh. He is currently under the care of the BCCI medical team at the NCA, Bengaluru, and will miss the three-match series.'
After this, BCCI included Umran Malik in the team as Shami's replacement. Let us tell you that before Shami, the team's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has also been ruled out of this series. Jadeja was selected in the squad but was subject to his fitness. But due to not getting fit in time, Jadeja had to be dropped. Apart from him, Jaspreet Bumrah and Hardik Pandya are also not a part of this team. In the absence of all these senior players, Indian bowling looks very pale.
