New Delhi: On the 11th day of the second phase of the budget session of Parliament, on Wednesday, in the Upper House, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai replied to a question on why there are barricades at every border of the national capital. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that as per the inputs given by the Delhi Police, barriers and barricades have been strategically installed along the roads of Delhi, as well as on the borders of Delhi, following a laid down protocol for the safety of the people.

Let us know that barricades are put up on the main roads of Delhi-NCR. Checks are carried out by putting up barricades to maintain law and order, while barricades are also used to manage traffic. Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari were also asked questions in the Upper House about the safety of people on roads. Nitin Gadkari has said in the Upper House that on average, 5 lakh accidents take place every year in India, in which 1,50,000 people die. For this, we are taking several steps. He said that for this, six airbags in 8-seater vehicles have now been made mandatory, which is necessary for road safety.

Along with this, nowadays the trend of electric vehicles has increased, which was also questioned from the point of view of safety. Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said in response that we are very much aware of the quality of new electric vehicles. We ensure the safety of people. These vehicles are made on the basis of international standards for safety. The standards of security are already fixed.
