Wednesday; July 13, 2016: A well known Dalit leader from Maharashtra-Ramdas Athawale, past week who was on oath in as Union Minister of State for Social Justice has liable inter-caste marriages for growing atrocities on Dalits and demanded arms for their protection.

In an interview Republican Party of India leader and BJP ally Athawale said , “people from the upper castes could not accept somebody from their community marrying a Dalit .Atyachar ka mool karan hain inter-caste love aur marriage … Yeh unko accha nahin lagta hain. Iske liye atyachar badh raha hain jyada. (The main reason for atrocities is inter-caste love and marriage. This is not liked by the upper caste. This has led to growing incidents of atrocity),”

Athawale also say again, “his demand of allowing Dalits to possess weapons for their defence.”

He further said stating the Sikh, "This is home department's subject, ministry should think about it."

As Ramdas also said that, “about reservation in private sector saying that government jobs were shrinking and, therefore, there should not be an issue with providing quota in the private sector”.
