Movie maker Mansoor Khan, who has worked with Aamir Khan in films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, has worked with Shahrukh Khan in Josh. He has also revealed the cast of the movie. Mansoor Khan has said that he was going to sign Kajol to play the role of Shahrukh Khan's sister in the film Josh.

Aishwarya became Shahrukh Khan's sister: Not only this, Mansoor Khan has also said a few things about making Aishwarya Rai the sister of Shahrukh Khan in the movie. After which he cast Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Shahrukh Khan's sister. He does not care what people think about his choice. He just got the idea and he has cast her.

Shah Rukh Khan refused: Reports say that my view was that both characters are equally important… I often had Shah Rukh in mind for the role of Max. And I intended to cast Aamir in the role of Chandrachur Singh. When I narrated the story to Aamir, he assumed that he would play Max. Then, when I told Shah Rukh, he was very excited. When I asked him, 'Shah Rukh, are you doing the movie or not?' he said he is not. 'Because I know you are taking Aamir in it'."

Kajol gave this reaction: Mansoor has informed that it did not end here, he was also going to cast Kajol in the film. Mansoor Khan has said about this that, when he narrated the story of the film to Kajol, she got up and started leaving. On this Mansoor asked if she would do the film, then Kajol said no, she wants to play the character of Max. After this she left.

This is how Aishwarya got the role: After which Mansoor thought of signing beauty queen Aishwarya Rai in the movie. He has said that Aishwarya never complained. Nor did she ask where the camera should be. Mansoor Khan believes that professionally Josh was Aishwarya Rai's best movie.
