Indian Olympic boxer Mary Kom, athlete Milkha Singh, ex-Indian cricket captain M.S. Dhoni and now Sanju, all these movies have already told some untold stories of real-life fighters who represent India on the worldwide stage in one or other field.

Talking about the sports personality then they really have a life that should be shared. Such a wonderful journey is coming in front of the audience with the help of Diljit Dosanjh who is portraying Sandeep Singh, the former captain of Indian hockey team in his upcoming movie Soorma. The actor who definitely will be a superstar after this role thinks that there should be more projects which can portrait every icon of Indian history. He expressed: “More and more biopics need to be made on the life of soldiers and sportspersons. They are the real heroes of this country, who have made India proud and their stories should be told. There are so many unsung heroes in this country who don’t get their due. Movies are a medium through which we can at the least give them the recognition they deserve,”.

While presenting his views on the biopic of the talented cricket player Yuvraj Singh who helped India to win 2011 world cup despite being a cancer patient he said: “Of course there should be a biopic made and sooner than later. He has such an inspiring story and is a real hero. Audiences should get to see stories icons who gave everything for their country. And Yuvi paaji is definitely among the top-tier among that list. What he did for the sport and the country will inspire the youth for generations,”.

He regretted that he can’t play the legends role as “I wish I could, but I can’t. I wear a turban and Yuvi paaji doesn’t. And that wouldn’t change. But his story should certainly be made into a film. In fact, Angad paaji (who plays Sandeep Singh’s elder brother in Soorma) has trained under Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh as have Sandeep paaji and Vikram paaji. They are a wonderful family with so much talent and inspiration,”.

Its quite regretting to his fans too as the singer-actor is a one who has a very strong fan base which will eventually get increased after the biopic of the acclaimed hockey player.
