Alakshmi was Laksmi's sister. She was the opposite of the calm, gentle Lakshmi with scattered hair, dangerous eyes and pointed teeth. Alakshmi often used to visit her sister. But she often used to visit her sister only when Goddess Lakshmi is with Lord Vishnu and spending some private moments together.
