Sesame seeds contain calcium, iron, copper, magnesium, manganese, vitamin b1, etc. The high amount of calcium and copper makes sesame an ideal remedy for arthritis.

  • Sesame oil is a natural anti-inflammatory agent. Massaging with sesame seed oil is recommended to strengthen bones and muscles and improve flexibility of joints.
  • It helps in reducing chronic joint pains and muscle spasms.
  • It acts as an antioxidant and helps in protecting the joints from oxidative stress.
  • Sesame oil, when combined with anti-arthritic herbs and is applied to the joints to provide fast relief from pain.

Here are some ways to apply sesame oil for arthritis.

Sesame oil with Ginger

Mix some sesame oil with an equal amount of ginger juice. Warm this mixture and apply it on the painful joints. The anti-inflammatory properties of ginger help in reducing swelling and pain in the joints. Ginger also helps in stimulating circulation in the affected joints, and thus, reduces the pain.

Sesame oil with Garlic

Take one garlic bulb and chop the cloves. Steep the chopped garlic cloves in half a cup of sesame oil. Massage the joints with a small amount of the garlic and the infused sesame oil. It helps to inhibit the cartilage damage.

Sesame oil with Nutmeg

Nutmeg is known to reduce pain and swelling in the joints and muscles. It also improves circulation. Pour a cup of sesame oil in a pan, add 3 tablespoons of ground nutmeg. Place the pan on boiling water and let the oil shimmer for several minutes. Massage this  on the affected joints.
