New Delhi: Today, the 138th birth anniversary of the country's first President Rajendra Prasad is being celebrated. Rajendra Prasad, who played an important role in the making of the constitution, was born on 3 December 1884, he was very promising in reading and writing since childhood. Although his descendants say, Rajendra Prasad drafted the constitution, yet he was not given the respect he deserved by the government.
Born in the holy land of Bihar, Rajendra Prasad himself has disclosed in his autobiography how he got the idea of ​​serving the nation. According to Rajendra Prasad, after meeting Gopal Krishna Gokhale, he became restless to join the freedom struggle. But, family responsibilities held him down. After a lot of thinking, Rajendra Prasad wrote a letter in Bhojpuri to his elder brother Mahendra Prasad and his wife Rajvanshi Devi and sought permission to serve the country. Elder brother Mahendra started crying after reading this letter from Rajendra Prasad and started thinking about what should I answer to younger brother. Finally, after getting consent, Dr. Rajendra Prasad jumped into the freedom struggle.
Tara Sinha, granddaughter of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, says that Rajendra Prasad prepared the outline of the constitution. Played an important role in the making of the constitution. Still, he was not given the respect he deserved and even today there is no discussion on this matter. After retirement, Rajendra Prasad spent his last days at Sadaqat Ashram in Patna and left this world on February 28, 1963. Rajendra Prasad was the permanent president of the assembly that made the constitution and Rajendra Prasad had as much contribution to making the constitution as Baba Saheb Ambedkar, but this is never discussed.
