Story - According to the story of Shiv Puran, Lord Shiva went out to visit the universe at one time. While wandering, they went towards a forest. Many sages used to live with their families in this forest. Lord Shiva was going naked from there, he did not care at all that there was nothing on his body.
At that time, seeing Lord Shiva, the wives of sages started to be fascinated towards them and with this, they were not tired of praising them in their hearts. When sages came to know that their wives were being attracted to an unknown man, they got very angry.

But the sages did not even think that what they consider a common man is Lord Shiva. So that this tiger kills and consumes Shiva but it did not happen. In contrast, Mahadev killed the tiger and came out wearing his skin. After this incident, sages started to realize that it could not be an ordinary person. According to this story of Shiva Purana, it is said that since then, Shiva has been wearing tiger skin.
