The North Eastern Community Resource Management Society (NERCRMS) is focusing on ways for Community Based Organizations to add value to spice crops in order to increase product marketability and farmers' revenue (CBOs).

One of the most difficult issues for farmers in rural places is obtaining the best price for their agricultural goods. Farmers sometimes do not receive prices that are commensurate with the quality of their crop, despite great demand in the market.

"The CBOs founded by NERCRMS, Shillong, and the Changlang Community Resource Management Society (CCRMS) are playing an important role in tackling these difficulties," according to the Ministry of Development of the North-East Region (DoNER).
