According to Hindu beliefs, Ashwin mas is of utmost importance. This full moon is celebrated as Sharad Purnima. This is being celebrated today i.e. 19th October 2021 on Sharad Purnima. This full moon date is considered to be positive. It is believed that on this day there is a shower of nectar from the sky and the grace of Mother Lakshmi is achieved.

According to religious beliefs, winter begins from this day. Chandra Dev is worshipped on this day. On the night of the full moon, the milky light of the moon bathes the earth and the festival of Purnima is celebrated amidst this milky light. It is a tradition to make kheer on the night of Sharad Purnima and keep it in the open sky. The logic behind this is that milk contains a lot of lactic acids.

Because of this, the bright light of the moon helps in increasing the bacteria already present in milk. On the other hand, the rice present in the kheer makes this task easier. The starch found in rice helps in this. At the same time, it is said that silver vessels have high immunity. It is also believed that mother Lakshmi originated from Samudra Manthan on the day of Sharad Purnima. It is believed that on this day Mother Lakshmi comes to roam the earth. Those who invoke Mother Lakshmi at night on this day receive the grace of the mother.
