In the Indian Army convoy, Maruti Gypsy is once again making a comeback. In the army for nearly three decades, the identity-making gypsy has been exempted from the rules even after the production was discontinued. In fact, the Indian Army needs 3051 Gypsy, for which Maruti was ordered. But the production has been discontinued since April, and Maruti refused to complete the order. The army insisted on taking the gypsy, stating its necessity. For this, the Ministry of Defence has relaxed safety as well as other rules to enable the army to get a gypsy. Now Maruti is willing to build it separately for the army. We are going to tell you why this car is the first choice of the Army

The Maruti Gypsy Soft top version has been most used by the Indian Army, weighing only 985 kilograms. Its hard-top version weighs 1020 kilograms. Low weight makes it easy for the gypsy to run on thin and hard paths. The gypsy can be easily transported to high altitude places with the help of a low-power helicopter or aircraft, as it is lighter. In addition, it is easier to run the gypsy than the other heavy SUVs on icy and mud paths because of the low weight.

According to media reports, the army usually has to carry daily arms and rations in remote areas. Despite the light, the Gypsy has the capacity to carry up to 500 kilograms. This ability to take weight equal to half of its weight also makes the gypsy like the Indian Army. Maruti Gypsy has a 16-valve MPFI G13BB petrol engine, which generates a power of 80 Bhp and 103 Nm of torque. The army also works in a very low-tempo, petrol engine much better than diesel.
