New Delhi: Former Team India captain Sunil Gavaskar has made a big statement about taking ODI captaincy from Virat Kohli. Gavaskar, popularly known as the Little Master, has explained why Kohli has been captained by ODI team. He termed Kohli's statement in September this year as responsibility when the Indian batsman said he would step down from the captaincy after the T20 World Cup and continue to captain the Test and ODI team.

Sunil Gavaskar further said that Kohli was told this before the news appeared in the media and what more do you want. Talking to the media, Gavaskar said, "I think you also know that Virat Kohli was told about it before making an announcement in public. It is not that he came to know about it through the media.

Gavaskar further said that the selection committee chief had already told him and that is a good thing. It is not that Virat Kohli has been removed from the captaincy of India's ODI team after he was revealed by the media. I think that statement caused a change when he said he wanted to continue captaining tests and ODIs.
