Meerut: A young man who was cutting his day in his in-laws' house in a colony in Kankarkheda in Modipuram, Meerut, was beaten with a stick by his wife and mother-in-law. When the youth protested, they started threatening to lodge a complaint against him. The victim on Saturday appealed to the police to take action citing the case.

This is the case: The youth from Sahibabad in Ghaziabad was married to a young woman from a colony in Kankarkheda. The young woman had no one but her mother and father. Where it is learnt that the marriage took place on the condition that the youth would stay at home as a Jamai after marriage. It was only after about four months of marriage that the young man moved into his in-laws. The young man, who works in a Ghaziabad company, started coming and going from Kankarkheda.

Mother-in-law has beaten: According to police information, the young man was also asked by his wife to do domestic work, which he started opposing, and a dispute broke out between the young man and the young woman over the same. When the young man told his mother-in-law and father-in-law about his wife's actions, he too took his daughter's side and started calling the son-in-law bad. The case escalated to such an extent that the wife and mother-in-law thrashed the youth over something on Friday. The neighbours also gathered, both sides calmed down when some people explained. On Saturday, the youth told the matter to the police along with his relatives, Acting SHO Virendra Singh says that the information has not been received yet, after getting the information, further investigation is going to be done.
