Lucknow: A wife was shot dead by her husband late last Tuesday at Pana in Barhaj police station area of Deoria district. He committed the crime with his father's licensed gun. Police have arrested the accused husband with a gun and are interrogating him. SP Dr Shripati Mishra reached the spot and the criminal is still being questioned about the murder.
Arjun Mishra, a resident of Pyasi village in the Bhatni police station area, married his daughter Anuradha 4 years ago to Narendra alias Golden Tiwari's son of Late Gangasagar Tiwari from Pena village. Narendra used to work in Mumbai. During the Covid-19 period, he stayed in the village and opened a stationery shop at the intersection. Narendra on Tuesday bought the mobile of his wife Anuradha Tiwari (26). In the evening, Narendra came home from the shop and asked his wife for his clothes to go somewhere. She has also discoursed about returning the mobile first. It was on this point that a quarrel broke out between the two. When Narendra threatened to shoot, Anuradha said, "Shoot, but she is not going to give clothes without mobile."
Narendra got angry and opened fire on her with his father's licensed gun. Anuradha lost her life on the spot when the bullet hit her near her neck. People nearby rushed after hearing the gunshot. People informed the police when they saw Anuradha lying dead in the courtyard. Police station officer TJ Singh Mayforce rushed to the spot shortly after. He informed the authorities about the murder and took the accused Narendra into custody.
