Amidst sharp hike in petrol and diesel prices, good news has come to the general public today. Oil companies have not changed the prices of petrol and diesel on Thursday. Similarly, oil is still available at prices on Wednesday, 9th June. Petrol is at Rs 95.56 per litre while diesel is at Rs 86.47 per litre in the Delhi market. Oil companies had hiked petrol and diesel prices on Wednesday, after which petrol became costlier by 25 paise and diesel by 25 paise. The price of petrol and diesel has gone up 22 times after the assembly elections which ended earlier last month. 5.24. The price of diesel has gone up by Rs 5.69 per litre in 22 days since May 4.

Since last March, there has been a stir in 5 states of the country for assembly elections. Due to which the price of petrol and diesel did not go up even after crude oil was expensive. However, in the meantime, the price of petrol and diesel has come down in four instalments after crude oil becomes cheaper. This made petrol cheaper by 77 paise per litre.
