New Delhi: Former Team India batsman and cricket expert Wasim Jaffer has backed senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar to join the T20 World Cup squad to be played in Australia this year. Jaffer has also expressed happiness over Bhuvi's ball performance during the first T20 International against England. Bhuvneshwar Kumar had shattered Jos Buttler's gills with his in-swing bowling.

With the new ball, Bhuvneshwar Kumar played brilliantly against England and took the big wicket of captain Jos Buttler and gave away just 10 runs in his three overs. The right-arm pacer will also want to repeat his performance during the second T20I. On Cricinfo, Jaffer said, "In international cricket, most of the batsmen struggle against a bowler who swings the ball. Especially with the new ball, you don't see a lot of bowlers swinging, but Bhuvi is a great exponent of it. Ever since he got back into the team, he has been doing it properly and it was great to see him perform brilliantly against a good batting line-up. There is no doubt in my mind that he will be in the World Cup squad. He is an absolute certainty.''

Similarly, former England spinner Ashley Giles has also said that Bhuvneshwar Kumar should be on the plane to play in Australia in the T20 World Cup. Giles said: "Will the ball swing as much in Australia? I don't know, but if anyone swings, it will be Bhuvi. I think he has already included his name in that World Cup squad.''
