New Delhi: Today is going to be a very important day for the indigenous corona vaccine Covaxin manufactured by Bharat Biotech. Bharat Biotech's Covaxin has not yet received the green signal from the World Health Organization (WHO). The Indian vaccine is likely to be approved at a meeting of the strategic advisory group of experts (SAGE) of the WHO on Tuesday.

Bharat Biotech's Covaxin is being given in India for the past several months, but the green signal has not been received from WHO yet. However, Bharat Biotech had applied for this several months ago and had also submitted the necessary documents. It is now believed that the Covaxin can be approved in the WHO meeting today. Bharat Biotech will also give a presentation in this regard today.

90 minutes have been kept for discussion on Covaxin. This meeting will be at a closed door. The World Health Organization meeting will begin around 3.45 pm today. In the same meeting, it may be decided whether the vaccine got approved for emergency use by WHO. The meeting will discuss clinical data of Covaxin on 1, 2, 3 and safety, efficiency and effectiveness.
