Srinagar: There has been a stampede in the Jammu and Kashmir Congress after former CM Ghulam Nabi Azad resigned from the Congress. Every day a large number of Congress leaders are leaving the party and joining Ghulam Nabi Azad's team. Due to this, Congress is constantly getting setbacks on setbacks. On Tuesday, the Congress suffered another major setback when 64 J&K Congress leaders, including former Jammu and Kashmir Deputy CM Tarachand, announced their resignation from the party in support of Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Apart from Tara Chand, former minister Majid Wani, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Chaudhary Gharu Ram and former MLA Thakur Balwan Singh, former general secretary Vinod Mishra are some of the high-profile names to quit the Congress. All these 64 leaders who have resigned from Congress have announced to join the group led by Ghulam Nabi Azad. All of them have sent a joint resignation to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi. The Congress has been shaken to the core by the mass resignation of 64 leaders, while Azad has announced yet another big setback to the Congress. He has also said 'All the leaders have resigned for me and all of them are with me. There will be many more setbacks for Congress.'
Let us inform you that after leaving the Congress, Azad announced to form of a national-level party in Jammu and Kashmir. After his announcement, more than a dozen prominent Congress leaders, including several former ministers and MLAs of Jammu and Kashmir, besides hundreds of Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members, municipal corporators and district and block level leaders have already resigned from Congress to join Azad's party.
