After a very turbulent couple of years during which he was entangled in court disputes with a British tabloid and his ex-wife, Amber Heard, the buzz surrounding Johnny Depp has finally started to turn positive. His professional career ultimately suffered as a result of the long-running controversy that surrounded him. He lost not one, but two significant franchises, namely Pirates of the Caribbean and Fantastic Beasts. Johnny Depp, who is still adored for his iconic role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films despite having legal issues with his wife Amber Heard, has given rise to the question about his return to acting while fans were upset and had been protesting against the studio's decision.

For the uninitiated, Hollywood started to maintain a safe distance from the celebrity once the legal disputes began and Depp appeared in court to fight them. As a result, studios politely requested his go from them, and some even did so in silence without making any announcements. He even lost the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, in which he plays Jack Sparrow, as a result of this process.

Before the verdict in his defamation lawsuit, a film producer had testified that the "future is still up in the air." Depp's involvement in the new film had not yet been properly confirmed at the time.

In a pre-recorded deposition given to the court on May 19, Disney executive Tina Newman said she didn't "know one way or another" if Depp was still being considered for a part in the film.

After winning his defamation lawsuit, Depp may return to the franchise, according to a former official at Walt Disney Studios."I absolutely believe post-verdict that Pirates is primed for rebooting with Johnny as Capt. Jack back on board," the former exec told People. Added "There is just too much potential box-office treasure for a beloved character deeply embedded in the Disney culture."

It would undoubtedly be more than a success for Johnny Depp and his Hollywood career if he were to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean revival. The desire to see Johnny Depp reprise his role as Jack Sparrow in another Pirates of the Caribbean film has never died.

Pirates of the Caribbean 6's final cast, plot, and release date have not yet been determined. Disney reportedly wants a female-driven tale for the revival, however specifics are lacking.
