New Delhi: Regarding the rallies to be held in the election states, the Health Ministry said in a media briefing on Thursday that the Election Commission has the right to decide on matters related to elections. Dr VK Paul, member (health) of NITI Aayog said that we have to stop the community spread of corona. However, the Health Ministry, while talking to the media, refused to answer the question of whether the Health Ministry can take suo moto cognizance of the ongoing election rallies.

VK Paul said that we have issued guidelines, we urge everyone to follow it. The Ministry of Health said that we have no plan to set the period of isolation for those corona patients who do not have symptoms of corona as per CDC guidelines. The ministry has also justified the hospitalization of those corona patients who have fewer symptoms. Health Ministry's Joint Secretary Lav Aggarwal said that we are taking precautions at this time. On Thursday, the Election Commission held a press conference in Lucknow. During this, the assembly elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh next year were discussed.
