New Delhi: The central government's lawyer has opposed the demand to offer Namaz in the Mughal Mosque located inside the Qutub Minar complex of the national capital Delhi. Advocate Kirtiman Singh, appearing for the government, has told the Delhi High Court that this mosque is a protected monument and the case is also pending in the Saket court. However, the counsel for the Waqf Board opposed it.

The Waqf Board told the court that the case in the Saket court was regarding the Quwat-ul-Islam mosque, another mosque located in the Qutubuminar complex. Not about the Mughal Mosque. He told the court that the Mughal mosque is not included in the list of protected monuments and that stopping the prayers there is a one-sided, illegal and arbitrary decision. On this, the counsel for the Central Government demanded more time from the High Court for further cross-examination. The Delhi High Court has adjourned the hearing to September 12.

Let us tell you that on the one hand, the matter of Qutub Minar is in court, while on the other hand questions have started arising due to the ban on offering Namaz in the Mughal Mosque. In such a situation, it has been clarified by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) why Namaz has been banned here. ASI has told its reality. Imam Sher Mohammad has given a statement regarding the Mughal Mosque in the Qutub Minar complex. He says that there was constant worship in this mosque. There was never any problem in the delivery of Namaz earlier. The process was going on continuously. But, why it was closed suddenly, the answer was not received from the ASI. Imam says that only told us that you do not have approval.
