Will diesel prices also come down after petrol in Delhi?

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has forged a front against the Delhi government of Arvind Kejriwal, calling for a cut in value-added tax (VAT) on diesel prices after petrol. On Monday, December 6, BJP activists held a violent protest outside the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office.

The activists led by Delhi BJP unit president Adesh Gupta staged the demonstration. Daruna Gupta said diesel prices will be reduced by Rs 15. Adesh Gupta said finance minister Arun Jaitley had reduced petrol and diesel prices when the Modi government was formed in 2014. During that time, Arvind Kejriwal's government had promised to reduce VAT. But the AAP government has not yet reduced VAT diesel prices. Which is affecting all transport erstwhile freight.

Adesh Gupta recalled Arvind Kejriwal's old promises that Kejriwal had promised to reduce the prices of both petrol and diesel, but only petrol has reduced VAT. Order Gupta said, "No VAT has been reduced at the price of diesel, today trains are running on diesel to a great extent in Delhi. Freight is on diesel trains, if diesel prices are VAT lower, freight fares will also be affected.''
