New Delhi: Team India Test captain Virat Kohli has made several important points while holding a press conference before leaving for South Africa. On quitting the T20 captaincy, Virat Kohli has said that no one had any problem with the decision, no one told me not to give up the captaincy. Virat's statement is in sharp contrast to BCCI President Sourav Ganguly's statement that he himself had requested Virat not to give up the captaincy.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Virat Kohli said, "The first thing I told BCCI about quitting the T20 captaincy was received very well. No one had any problem, I was not told not to give up the T20 captaincy. Rather that decision was praised. Then I also said that I would like to captain ODI and Test, if there is no further decision of the selectors, I had also given the option that if they think something else, it is their own decision'.

Mentions that kohli's statement was completely different from BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly, when he first reacted to Virat Kohli's removal from the captaincy, had stated that we had asked Virat Kohli not to give up the T20 captaincy. Sourav Ganguly had said in an interview, 'I myself spoke to Virat Kohli and told him not to give up t20 captaincy. But because of the workload, he wanted to do it, there is nothing wrong with it. He has been Team India's biggest player for a long time'.
