Willie Garson, who starred in "Sex and the City" and "White Collar" as Stanford Blatch and Mozzie, died at the age of 57. Garson's death was confirmed by a family member. Variety.com says that the cause of death has not been revealed.

Garson portrays talent agent Stanford, Carrie Bradshaw's smart and fashionable best male friend in the classic "Sex and the City" series, played by Sarah Jessica Parker. He returned to the character in the sequels to the franchise, 'Sex and the City' and 'Sex and the City 2,' and was currently filming the next revival series "And Just Like That."

Patrick King said, " "Every day while filming 'And Just Like That,' his energy and devotion to his art were palpable. Even though he was unwell, he was there giving us his best. Everyone will miss his many talents as an actor and as a person. We are soothed in this sad, dark period by our memories of his enthusiasm and light."

On Twitter, Garson's on-screen companion on "Sex and the City," Mario Cantone, paid homage to his buddy. "I couldn't have asked for a better TV companion. I'm heartbroken and overcome with sadness. We will all be taken away from each other very soon. The gods sent you to us as a gift. Rest in peace, my dear buddy. I adore you "he penned

"Willie Garson was a loyal friend and a brilliant light for everyone in his universe in life, as well as on film," HBO/HBO Max said in a statement. The statement went on to say: "He was a member of our family for over twenty-five years, and he created one of HBO's most adored characters. We are heartbroken to learn of his death and send our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends." 

Apart from "Sex and the City," Garson co-starred as cunning conman Mozzie on USA Networka¿s "White Collar" from 2009 to 2014. Garson was also known for playing the friendly doorman Ralph in the 2005 rom-com "Little Manhattan," Gerald Hirsch in the "Hawaii Five-0" reboot from 2015 to 2020, and Henry Coffield on "NYPD Blue" in 1993.
