On Saturday, life came to a standstill in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh to Dras Valley of Ladakh and Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, mercury is making new records daily. In the Sarai Kale Khan area of Delhi, the temperature dropped to 2.0 degrees in the morning. This is the lowest temperature this season in December. Seeing the worsening winter conditions, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Delhi.

For the information, let us tell you that it was two degrees Celsius in Kanpur, UP and Dara in Kargil district of Ladakh, -28.6 degrees Celsius. Temperatures reached 1.2 degrees at Pachmarhi, a hill station in Madhya Pradesh. In Shekhawati, Rajasthan, the minimum temperature was -4 degrees.

57 deaths due to cold in Uttar Pradesh: According to information received from sources, due to the havoc in Uttar Pradesh, mercury has reached close to the freezing point in most cities. The minimum temperature on Saturday was 1.8 degrees in Aligarh, 2.0 degrees in Bahraich, 3.1 degrees in Bareilly, 2.3 degrees in Jhansi, 2.0 degrees in Kanpur and 3.5 degrees in Lucknow. The situation is that there is no relief in the quilt inside the house. 57 people have died in various districts due to cold. On the other hand, in Kanpur, on Saturday, 28 December 2019, the minimum temperature fell 3.4 degrees to a record 2 degrees Celsius in one stroke. It was the coldest in the state. In the warning issued by the Meteorological Department, it has been said that there will be a cold day in the state till December 31. It may rain from 1 to 3 January. At the same time, buses, trains and airlines have been affected due to bad weather.
