New Delhi: The winter session of Parliament scheduled to be held in November and December will be held at the new Parliament House. This was disclosed by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday. On the fifth day of his visit to South-East Asia, Om Birla held bilateral talks with Singapore Parliament Speaker Tan Chuan Jin. At present, the construction of the new Parliament building is in progress.

"Talking about the new Parliament building under construction, Birla said that the new Parliament building will fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the new India of the 21st century. He expressed confidence that the work on the new building will be completed soon and the next winter session will be held in the new building itself.   Speaking on the occasion, Birla told Chuan Jin that both India and Singapore believe in democratic governance. He said that dialogue between parliamentarians of democratic countries helps strengthen democracy and enable democratic institutions to function better.

Birla further expressed happiness at the presence of a large number of Indians in Singapore and the recognition of talent and hard work locally. He expressed the hope that there will not be an adverse change for Indians at the policy level in Singapore's Work Pass Framework. Om Birla said that strengthening the supply chain is the new need of today's world.
