Department of Telecommunications (DoT)  have launched new technology to improvise the connectivity on Aircraft. The new technology will allow users to make a voice call, video calls and to use data services when the aircraft will be on the route.

An official from the Ministry of Home affairs and department of space, while talking bout the new program said,  “When it went to the committee, it got support from a number of departments, including civil aviation, DIPP (Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion). Home and space departments raised some issues which will be addressed in the final policy,”

As per the reports, an official informed about the going on discussion related to Aircraft project, "The Ministry of Home Affairs specifically wanted to know if legal interception will be possible, and it is possible. This will be addressed in the revised proposal.”
