New Delhi; The CBSE 10th Standard Board Exam sparked outrage when one of its reading passages contained multiple 'anti-women' statements promoting backward beliefs. On Saturday's exam, there was a paragraph that grieved the loss of parental authority in the twentieth century as a result of women's 'emancipation.' Students and parents alike have been outraged by the question.

In the 19th century, parental authority was based on the husband being the master of the house and the woman offering him 'formal obedience,' according to the passage. It said, "It was her best strategy to rely on authority and explain, "Your father has forbidden it." This was how children and servants were educated to understand their roles "..

CBSE added fuel to the fire by offering four title options: 'Who is accountable for kid indiscipline?', 'Collapse of discipline at home,' 'place of children and servants at home,' and 'child psychology.' Balaji Sampath, the founder of the Chennai-based education NGO Aid India, wrote a post on Facebook denouncing the paper, outraged by the board's outdated beliefs. "This is the same kind of dumb thinking that blames the rape victim for the rape," he said.

Likewise, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi took to Twitter to criticise CBSE's tweeting, saying, "It's incredible! Is this really what we're teaching our kids? Why else would these outdated attitudes on women be included in the CBSE curriculum? Clearly, the BJP government supports them ". The matter is currently being investigated by the CBSE, and experts will determine the proper response based on interpretations.
