Bengaluru: A woman expressed her anger and frustration by physically assaulting an ATM security guard who referred to her as "aunty" on September 19. Identified as Ashwini, the woman had just withdrawn cash from the ATM and was standing near the door when the security guard, Krishnaiah, asked her to move aside to allow others to enter. However, his choice of words, addressing her as "aunty," apparently infuriated Ashwini.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the woman was greatly offended by the term. In a fit of rage, she proceeded to strike the security guard with her slipper and even slapped him while verbally abusing him. Fortunately, the security guard did not sustain any injuries during the altercation.

Onlookers who witnessed the incident promptly alerted the police. A case was subsequently registered against Ashwini based on a complaint filed by Krishnaiah at the Malleswaram police station. This incident is reminiscent of a July case in which a Bengaluru woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend during a dispute, primarily centered on financial issues.
