Lucknow: One of the main causes of death of a mother at the time of giving birth to a child is bleeding after delivery. One such incident was handled very easily by the Queen Mary Hospital of The King George's Medical University in Lucknow and the crisis on the life of the mother was averted.

KGMU spokesperson Dr Sudhir said that the case of bleeding does not occur in every pregnant woman. Such cases are seen in only 5 out of 1,000 women. In such a situation, it is much more difficult to save the pregnant woman from this difficult situation. However, KGMU doctors delivered the woman and saved the child's life.

Giving the news about the case of Playgenta Akreta who has been treated, Dr Sudhir said that the 8-and-a-half-month pregnant woman, who was a resident of Sultanpur was admitted to The Queen Mary Hospital in KGMU. During this, the woman started bleeding. Thereafter, it was necessary to operate on the woman and the doctors completed the preparation of the operation and the pregnant woman was shifted to the radiology department, so as to prevent bleeding by putting balloons in the veins of the woman's uterus. Doctors said that after the birth of the baby, the two balloons inserted in the veins were kept swollen for about 30 minutes to prevent bleeding of the woman. He said that this method of balloon infusion procedure was able to stop the woman's bleeding and save her life. King George's Medical University claims that no government medical institute in Uttar Pradesh has so far conducted such an operation in which the woman could have been rescued.
