Pune: In a shocking incident, a woman fights off a leopard to save her child. The incident took place in Pimpri Chinchwad of the Junnar Taluka. The woman and her child were sleeping when they were attacked. The leopard left the area after the woman put up a tough fight and raised an alarm.

The woman and her husband are sugarcane farmers. The incident took place when the 18-month-old toddler and her mother were sleeping outside their hut. Allegedly, the woman woke up after she heard the big cat growl. Before the woman could wake up, the leopard caught hold of her son's head.Forest officer Vishal Adhagale said that the woman started hitting the leopard with her hand to save her son.
Despite the fact that the leopard let go of the toddler's head, he caught hold of the woman's hand. When the woman raised an alarm, the leopard ran away to the fields nearby. The toddler had marks of the leopard's teeth on his neck and eyes. The toddler was rushed to the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation-run Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital and admitted there. The 18-month-old will be discharged from the hospital on Monday.
