UTTAR PRADESH: A newborn girl aged one and a half years old was allegedly strangled to death by her mother in a fit of rage just to upset her husband.

The incident took place in the Bijnor district's Aurangpur Bhikku village.

Dinesh Singh, the superintendent of police in Bijnor, said: "Ankit Singh, the child's father, has complained that his daughter passed away on Saturday in suspicious circumstances. We sent the body for a post-mortem, and the results showed that suffocation was the cause of death." He claimed that Shivani Rani, the mother of the kid, was detained on suspicion and later confessed to the murder when questioned. She said that following a contentious fight with her husband, she fatally strangled the child in a fit of rage.

Three years ago, Ankit and Shivani got married. They frequently used to argue after the birth of their daughter.

Polcie said, a case has been filed against the alleged mother under IPC section 302 (murder). "We detained Shivani Rani, the mother of the kid, on the basis of suspicion, and she later confessed to the murder when questioned. She said that following a contentious fight with her husband, she fatally strangled the child in a fit of rage.
