Dhamtari: In Chhattisgarh, security forces have killed a woman Naxalite in an encounter in Dhamtari district and recovered arms from the spot. The Director-General of Anti-Naxal Operations in the state said that a woman Naxalite was killed in an encounter by an STF team in Katigaon forest under Borai police station area of Dhamtari district.

According to sources, Naik said that the STF team was on patrol in Borai police station area on Monday night. When the team was in the jungle of Katigaon in the border area of Dhamtari and Kanker district this morning, the Naxalites opened fire on the police party. The police team also retaliated.

With this, the Naxalites fled from the spot after some exchange of fire. Later, the police team searched the spot and recovered the body of a woman Naxalite in black uniform and an INSAS rifle. A senior police official said the identity of the slain Naxalite has not been ascertained. The operation against Naxalites is going on in the area.
