Mumbai: A 40-year-old woman human trafficker is convicted and sentenced for 10 years of rigorous imprisonment. The Thane district court convicted for slashing the private parts of a girl, who had fought for being forced into prostitution.

As per the reports,  district judge S P Gondhalekar after a 5-year trial announced the sentence to a woman. the accused was convicted under Sections of the Indian Penal code and Immoral Traffic (Prevention) act of 1956.

The woman was identified as Ruby Munshi, who hailed from Bangladesh. Reportedly, her two aides Afzal Siddiqui and Ramadevi Dodamani have been acquitted of all the charges for lack of evidence against them. Meanwhile, another accused Alamgir is said to be on a run.

The reports also claims that the prosecutor Ujjwala Moholkar told the court that the victim was brought from Bangladesh on the pretext of giving job but she was pushed in porsititution. However, when the victim denied being a part of the trade, the accused then chopped her private parts, she also broke her teeth. Reportedly, the court was informed that the sex traffickers are also stubbed with cigarettes on her body, causing burn injuries.
