New Delhi: There is a debate in the country that girls get fewer opportunities than boys. They are prevented from education by society. But a figure from the Ministry of Human Resource Development is now presenting a different story. According to statistics, in the last one year, there has been a record increase of 752097 lakhs of women in higher education.

In the last year, more than seven and a half lakh women have taken admission in higher education. According to the report of the Ministry, where 1,74,37,703 women had enrolled in higher education, this year 1,81,89,800 girl students took admission.

Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank attended a special meeting on the new education policy of the Center and the states on Saturday. In which All India Higher Education Survey Report 2018-19 was released. It has been said in the report that more than seven and a half lakh women have taken admission in higher education in the last one year. It further stated that the gross enrollment ratio has also increased from 25.8 percent to 26.3 percent.

According to the report, UP and Haryana are among the eight states with the most colleges in the country. It has also been further mentioned that girls in the age group of 18 to 23 years were ahead of boys in getting admission in higher education. While the percentage of boys in this age group is 26.3, the percentage of girls is 26.4.

Rajasthan is at the forefront of education for women. There are 16 universities in the country which are leading in education for women, out of which three are in Rajasthan. In recent times the participation of girls has increased considerably in various fields.
