On Wednesday evening, a 21-year-old woman was left fighting for life after her ex-boyfriend stabbed her with a sword in South Delhi Vasant Vihar. According to the sources, the women had broken up with the man which have angered him. The accused, Hari Kanth, was arrested by the police from his house in Vasant Kunj.

According to the police officials, they were informed by girl's mother after she finds her daughter lying in a pool of blood on the balcony of their residence. In her complaint, the woman's mother told police that, her ex-boyfriend, Hari Kanth, came to visit their house around 7 pm. He then spoke to the women for almost two hours and then left the house. After this, the women locked herself in the room. 

21-year-old women's family members further said that around 9:30 pm the boy again came to their house and asked the women's mother to send their daughter outside the house. In her statement, women's mother said that the two went to the balcony and got into a quarrel. After some time, Hari Kanth came inside holding a blood-stained sword and threatened me.

Earlier according to the TOI reports, the women's family confirmed that their daughter and Hari had an affair for almost three years. Hari also had promised to marry the women and after that, they had been visiting the family ever since. However, after three years the women came to know that Hari is already married and was undergoing the divorce proceedings. When she stopped talking to him after getting to know of it, Kanth went to her house.

Doctors told the police officials that the sword has penetrated the woman’s stomach and back. She endured some inner wounds too that are being operated in a south Delhi hospital.
