Women's Day: BSF's 36 women bikersmove from Delhi to Kanyakumari

NEW DELHI: On International Women's Day, the Border Security Force (BSF) sent an all-female daredevil motorcycle team to Kanyakumari.

The BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) President Nupur Singh flagged off the BSF Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition "Empowerment Ride - 2022," an organisational mission to empower women, from India Gate. The women troopers of the BSF are also known as Seema Bhawani.

36 members of the BSF Seema Bhawani All-Women Daredevil Motorcycle Team, led by Inspector Himanshu Sirohi, embarked on a gruelling 5,280 km ride through major cities all the way to Kanyakumari and onward to Chennai, spreading the message of women empowerment across the nation.

This expedition will travel the length and breadth of the country, stopping at historical landmarks such as India Gate in Delhi, the Wagah Attari Border in Punjab, and the Statue of Unity in Gujarat before concluding at Royal Enfield's India Technical Centre in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

"The expedition will travel through Chandigarh, Amritsar, Attari, Bikaner, Jaipur, Udaipur, Gandhinagar, Kevadia, Nasik, Solapur, Hyderabad, Anantapur, Bengaluru, and Kanyakumari before arriving in Chennai on March 28," according to the BSF.
